<p><strong>Mondays from May 9<sup>th</sup> 6.15 – 7.15pm, Kentish Town Community Centre, Greenwood  Place</strong></p>
<p><strong>First class by  donation. Regular class price, £7.</strong></p>
<p>Meditation for a Healthy Mind is a new,  weekly class that combines powerful and effective meditation techniques from  around the world.   In the coming weeks, learn how to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Explore, balance and maintain a clear  sense of wellbeing</li>
<li>Cultivate inner awareness</li>
<li>Achieve respite from our mile-a-minute lives</li>
<li>Focus on yourself and your goals</li>
<li>Create a calm, focused and quiet  mind</li>
</ul>
<p>Each class will begin with gentle warm-ups  and will include one or two meditations. Over the weeks, students will learn a  variety of powerful meditative techniques, including breathwork (pranayama),  visualisation, guided meditation, mudra (symbolic hand gestures) and  sound.</p>
<p>The classes are non-denominational and  non-religious so everyone is welcome. No previous experience of meditation is  necessary. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring something to cover up  with (e.g. jumper, shawl) and a bottle of water. Mats and additional equipment  are provided.</p>
<p><strong>About the tutor, Shammi</strong><br />
Shammi is an experienced yoga and meditation teacher,  hypnotherapist and reiki practitioner. She heads up Ameya Wellbeing, a busy  healing practice near Oxford Circus. Shammi grew up in Nepal and India where  &#8220;alternative&#8221; wellbeing techniques &#8211; now popular in the West &#8211; were part of her  daily life. 15 years on, having studied with renowned teachers and undertaken  extensive self-study, she feels fortunate to share her knowledge with  others.</p>

<p>Kentish Town Community Centre has permission from Camden to turn a section of Montpellier Gardens into a food growing patch.</p>
<p>Every <strong>Saturday at 2pm</strong> the Gardening Club meet at <strong>Montpelier Gardens</strong> to sow, harvest, weed and water.  Come and pick up tips on how to grow food, help run the sessions or just enjoy the park.  The sessions are free and run in Montpelier Gardens, entrances off Brecknock Road, Leighton Grove and Montpelier Grove.</p>

<p><strong>Who are the classes for? </strong>Everyone is welcome – no need  to be bendy!</p>
<p>Hatha yoga is ideal for anyone who wants to develop an  easeful body and a peaceful mind. It is a complete system of gentle movements  and stretches, deep breathing and relaxation techniques, which improve strength,  flexibility and balance, both physically and mentally.</p>
<p>Come and join a friendly class to relax and energise, leaving  you ready to face the pressures of daily life.</p>
<p><strong>What do I need to bring? </strong>Just yourself in some comfy  clothes! Mats and props provided.</p>
<p><strong>About the instructor, Lucy Ellis</strong><br />
Lucy trained to teach hatha yoga at the Integral Yoga  Institute in Virginia. She has also spent time living and practicing meditation  at the San Francisco Zen Center.</p>
